Stephen Capper

Stephen has served for nearly 20 years as a secondary and primary headteacher.
He also chaired the governing body of an Ofsted Outstanding primary school for a 8 years.
He continues to work as a headteacher for ASSET in Ipswich, Suffolk.

Stephen completed an MBA at University College, London in international educational leadership and management.
He began work in education as an English teacher in 1985. Following an English degree in Lancaster he trained to teach at Durham University and began his career in the City of Leicester.

Later, as a Head of English, senior leader and Headteacher he furthered his experience in East London, Kent and Essex, by navigating two schools out of special measures, the careful management of a school closure and the creation of co-operative learning partnership organisation combining the efforts of all local primary and secondary schools in a charitable consortium.

He has served on several strategic bodies including as chair of the South Essex Commissioning Board for Essex County Council and more recently as Chair of the Mental Health Support Teams steering group in Suffolk.

His experience covers all ages from 2 - 18 and he is an experienced teaching, learning and leadership coach.

Stephen has worked in the UK and abroad, is also a Trustee at The Museum of Power in Essex and is a Fellow of the Royal Society of the Arts.
